The search is ongoing for 15-year-old Noura Fadi Hatoum who fell into the Adonis River (Nahr Ibrahim) during a hiking trip on Sunday.
Days later, her brother Adham tells The961 that there’s still no sign of her. “Nothing new,” he told us. “We’ve been searching since 8 AM.”
The Civil Defense search and rescue team has been working nonstop to try and locate Noura. Family, friends, and volunteers have also joined the search effort.
There are calls for the Lebanese Army to intervene in the search, according to local media.
Hatoum is the second Lebanese to go missing after being swept away by dangerously high levels of water in Lebanon’s rivers.
Her disappearance bears a tragic resemblance to the case of Hady Hokayem who was last seen in the Jaouz River. Almost a month of search later, there is still no sign of him.
