An explosion shook Akkar, North Lebanon, on Saturday morning.

The oil pipeline explosion took place on a coastal road in Al-Aabda, Akkar, and its cause has yet to be known, Al-Jadeed reported.

Photos and videos shared on social media show black smoke columns emerging from several locations in the pipeline, which extends from Iraq.

As of the time of writing, no casualties have been reported from the incident.

This is the third explosion to take place in Lebanon over the past week. Last Sunday, an explosion in South Lebanon, blamed on welding works, wounded several people.

A few days later, on Friday, another explosion erupted in the Beqaa region, killing 1 person and injuring others.
