A retired soldier, identified as I.D., had been reportedly raping children in the Al-Qaa area, in Baalbeck Governorate, and committing other crimes such as drug trafficking, for more than three years.
On Wednesday, June 29, a unit of the army intelligence raided his house and arrested him after being accused of immoral acts by a kid.
The security apparatus took action after a young boy managed to escape from the rapist’s house and ran to his family’s house. He told his family that he woke up and found himself naked in a room at I.D.’s house.
The arrested pedophile, who is in his fifties, tried to deny it. However, the videos and pictures found on his phone prompted him to confess to his crimes.
He confessed that he would prey on his young victims, drugging their juice in his shop where he sells juice and hookahs.
He would then take them to one of the rooms of his house, rape them, and take photos of them naked in order to threaten them later to force them to come back.
According to what security sources revealed to Al-Akhbar, more than 17 victims, including children of both genders, have all been victims of his drugging and rape.
A local resident said that the town decided to keep the news from reaching the media until now. He confirmed that I. D. was deliberately placing drugs in hookahs and juice and promoting narcotic pills.
He also revealed that there are security agencies who were aware of these criminal activities yet did not arrest the perpetrator.
Today, six days after the arrest of I.D., members from the Moral Protection Office in the Judicial Police went to Al-Qaa and listened to several victims.
They decided to transfer I.D. to Beirut, to be then transferred to the Narcotics Control Office for investigation.
Also, Al-Akhbar stated that I.D. pretended to have a heart attack during his arrest, and he was seen by a doctor, and his claim turned out to be false.
