People are protesting today in the courtyard of the Municipal Palace building in Saida, in conjunction with the meeting called by the Mayor to discuss issues related to electricity generators and the cost of monthly subscriptions.
The protesters denounced the chaos in the pricing of the monthly subscriptions for generators, the failure of a large number of owners to comply with the pricing approved by the Energy Ministry, an increase of about 40% on it, and some of these generator owners demanding payment in fresh dollars.
They consider that the official pricing of the Ministry is already high and hard to bear, let alone the generator owners making it further harder and hence impossible for them.
Accordingly, they demand the municipality and those concerned to control these violators and find a fair price or at least comply with the official pricing of the Ministry.
