Warmer weather calls for trips to Lebanon’s azure waters. But what about when there’s a life-threatening pandemic and looming disaster?
As of today, Lebanon has registered 878 cases and 26 deaths. Compared to the thousands who have lost their lives to the virus around the world, the fatalities in Lebanon are few.
However, the government has warned of the second wave, which has begun to emerge. The Cabinet had to order a 4-day total lockdown, on Wednesday, despite initial plans to reopen the country.
It seems some people don’t give two hoots about the pandemic and were recently spotted swimming and walking around in Ain El Mreisseh.
Despite coronavirus warnings, some people also spent their weekend at Al-Manara Corniche, captured by Nabil Ismail’s camera lens.
The video below shows people walking on the corniche at Ain El-Mreisseh and swimming in the sea, taking advantage of the sunshine and fresh air during these difficult times.
