On Tuesday night, a Lebanese woman named Susan Dabaja was elected president of Dearborn's city council. In fact, Dearborn is a city in the state of Michigan that has the largest population of Americans of Middle Eastern origins. Susan was elected for the presidency four years ago and won by 32 votes. As she was the first Middle Eastern woman to take office in Dearborn, Susan made national headlines. The fact that she got reelected means that the community of Dearborn trusts her.
