The Ministry of Labor launched the Qatar Employment Platform 2022, which was established after official coordination between the two countries to secure Lebanese jobs in the State of Qatar.
Despite the ministry’s full commitment to the Electronic Transactions and Personal Data Law 81/2018, the platform appears to be publicly exposing all the personal data of those who registered.
Accordingly, the Lebanese Ministry of Labor had to stop the feature “search for employees” and restricted it only to Qatari companies that officially register their accounts on the platform. This, according to the ministry, should prevent the exposure of citizens’ data to any violation.
The ministry explained that the companies are confirmed by technical and legal methods, which have the exclusive right to search only and under certain conditions, knowing that the registration process for Lebanese citizens is still ongoing.
