Beautiful Beirut has transformed into debris after the massive blast at its port. Homes, hospitals, universities, supermarkets, restaurants, and many more buildings and homes were ruined because of the impact.
Many foreign and Lebanese celebrities expressed their shock and mourned for Beirut. Many mobilized to raise awareness and fundraise for Lebanese charities and organizations helping Lebanon.
Among those eager to help are Lebanese-American Rima Fakih and her husband Wassim Slaiby, more famously known as Sal – The Weeknd’s manager.
They are launching a fundraiser campaign for the Lebanese Red Cross, the Children Cancer Center of Lebanon, which Rima is an ambassador of, as well as the United Nations World Food Bank Programme.
They are kicking it off with a $250,000 donation.
Many worldwide A-list celebrities shared the initiative by Rima and Sal on their Instagram stories. The Weeknd, French Montana, Ali Gate, and many more showed their support by reposting the fundraiser.
Unfortunately, the Children Cancer Center of Lebanon is one of the buildings that got severely damaged in Beirut. The center had to transfer its patients and employees to other places.
In addition, hospitals around Beirut were also severely impacted. They had to transmit cancer patients to the CCCL, which is why they are in need of extra help and donations to maintain saving young lives.
