The acting Minister of Education and Higher Education, Abbas Al-Halabi, has announced the continued closure of schools, high schools, and vocational institutions in areas adjacent to the southern international border for a second day, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
The decision comes in light of the ongoing tensions in the villages located in these districts and concerns for the safety of teachers, students, and residents.
Al-Halabi urged people to “follow the ministry’s statements day by day to monitor field developments and maintain the start of the academic year.”
