Lebanese Series STATUS QUO Won The VIS Storytellers Award At Conecta Fiction & Entertainment 2022

The 6th edition of the Conecta Fiction & Entertainment ceremony held in Toledo, Spain, has awarded 14 prizes among 31 finalist projects participating in its 5 pitching categories.

Among tens of works presented, Lebanon was also present at the awards ceremony with the Lebanese series, STATUS QUO, which won the VIS Storytellers Award, consisting of €10,000 (approx. USD 10,540) for the best pitch.

STATUS QUO revolves around a group of three teenage girls sitting in a café on a Saturday night, as riots are taking place against the son of a corrupted politician who was spotted there.

Leaving for safety, the girls find him begging to leave with them. But as destiny offers, the girls get a winning card to reopen a massacre case and hold the criminals accountable, and they kidnap him to do so.

However, as the series evolves, the girls start to question whether to keep fighting for justice or let him go.
