According to a study published in September 2021: 81 deaths and 169 injuries were victims of stray bullets between 2010 and 2021.
In 2016, the Lebanese Parliament passed a law that tightens penalties for those who shoot indiscriminately.
Despite this, the following year (2017) recorded the largest number of victims, which reached 41 dead and wounded, and the same year witnessed the arrest of 300 people on charges of shooting.
The solar panels, which the Lebanese have turned to heavily to confront the crisis of energy in the country, were massively damaged at the recent announcement of the Brevet results by stray bullets that spread over the roofs of buildings.
The Lebanese people reacted on social media to the celebratory shootings after the results were announced, condemning and criticizing them.
