According to a study published in September 2021: 81 deaths and 169 injuries were victims of stray bullets between 2010 and 2021.
In 2016, the Lebanese Parliament passed a law that tightens penalties for those who shoot indiscriminately.
Despite this, the following year (2017) recorded the largest number of victims, which reached 41 dead and wounded, and the same year witnessed the arrest of 300 people on charges of shooting.

The Lebanese people reacted on social media to the celebratory shootings after the results were announced, condemning and criticizing them.
