8-Year-Old Girl In Lebanon Shot By A Stray Bullet While On Her Way To Get Ice Cream

In Bebnine, Akkar – North Lebanon, an incident of mindless shooting left an 8-year-old girl in intensive care after a bullet hit her spine.

On Sunday, 8-year-old Suhaila Kassar was on her way to buy ice cream near her house when she was forced to the ground by the impact of a stray bullet.

She was rushed from her hometown in Akkar all the way to Nini Hospital in Tripoli where she is striving for life in intensive care. According to NNA, an x-ray examination found that the bullet had lodged into one of the vertebrae of her spine.

Until now, the shooter is not known.

The Mayor of Bebnine, Kifah Kassar, denounced the incident holding the state responsible for “the crimes of uncontrolled weapons that continue to stun [the Lebanese] with one disaster after another”.
