The Syndicate Of Lebanon National TV Employees Declared A Warning Strike

Tele-Liban

Like many public institutions, the employees and workers of Lebanon TV (Tele-Liban) continue to perform their duties under the weight of the economic decline, which has turned their pensions into worthless sums of money.

After months of waiting for the government to heed their demands, the Syndicate of Lebanon TV employees announced a warning strike, which will take an upward path.

It mentioned in a statement that all employees decided to implement the warning strike by suspending all production work, including direct programs and news bulletins, with the exception of covering the activities of the three official headquarters and the evening news bulletin only.

The warning strike will be implemented for 24 hours, starting from the morning of Wednesday, June 1st.

All employees are required to adhere to their workplace according to service schedules.

They considered that this strike is the only way to achieve the following demands:

  • Immediate implementation of the cost of the living decree
  • Payment of social assistance and scholarship differences
  • Implementation of all provisions of the insurance contract tender conditions book.

The Syndicate confirmed that it’s following up on the acts of intimidation and enticement practiced by some officials, and reminds them that the law prohibits these practices and that complaints will be filed against them.
