Syrian Singer Arrested At Beirut Airport Over The Possession Of Cocaine!

On Sunday, the famous Syrian singer Assala Nasri got arrested at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport for possessing 5.2 grams of cocaine. The substance was found in her makeup bag. Assala denied that she held this drug and claimed that somebody else must have slipped it in her bag to harm her. She took a drug test which turned out to be positive. Judge Claude Karam released her on bail. Also, the investigation is ongoing to find the source of the drug. She was eventually allowed to travel to Egypt under one condition which is to take another drug test there.

على قدّ ماكانت الساعات الطويلة الماضيه قاسيه وصعبه … على قدّ مافرحت بالمحبّه وبالإهتمام وبالثقه اللي غمرتوني فيها… ماتعوّدت بحياتي فسّر أو وضّح أو كون بمطرح المتّهم… مو بس لثقتي بنفسي بل لأنّي ومن عمري ست سنين وأصغر وأنا بين الناس وكتار كتير اللي اهتمّوا فيني ، وكتار كتير اللي أضافولي وعلّموني … ولاأبالغ لو قلت إنّي بحسّ بمسؤولية التعبير حتّى فيما له بالغ الأثر على أماني وأمان عائلتي ، لأنّي ضمير هالناس اللي مابيقدر صوتهم يوصل … طبعاً مرّات بندم وبقول ( شو كان بدّي بهالتعب) بس الأكيد إنّي خلقت لكون متل ماأنا… بيروت حبيبتي وتوأمي والناس اللي فيها بتساعدني وبتحبني أكتر بكتير من غيرهم … أنا بحسّ حالي خلقت فيها وبعشق كلّ ذرّه من ترابها … ومارح أزعل منها كتير لأنّه مالها ذنب… شكراً لكلّ اللي ساندوني وساعدوني من كبار هالدوله اللي بيتعذبوا أكتر منّي ليضلّوا كبار، وصلت اليوم بيتي تعبانه شوي ومصدومه شوي ومقهوره شوي ، بس كمان عندي أمل بالضمير وخصوصاً لمّا قريت بعض الرسائل لمن لاتربطني بهم مودّه ومع ذلك نفوا عنّي ماأُشيع ، والحقيقه هالشي فرّحني متل مافرحت بالكم الهائل من المحبّه والإهتمام اللي خفّف عنّي شعور الظلم اللي مارح أتعوّد ع��يه ، مافي شي إسمه صحافه صفرا بس فيه ناس صفرا بيشتغلوا صحافه ، وكلامهم أنتوا ردّيتوا عليه ، ومالحق يجرحني ، وسؤالي إلهم ( ليش لازم كون مُتّهمه وملوّثه ليكتب قلمكم عنّي؟ ممنوع كون حرّه؟ ممنوع طالب بالعدل؟ ممنوع كون بشر متل البشر اللي خلقهم الله ليكونوا جنب بعض ؟ ) أملي ببكره أحلى كبير وأملي حتّى بالضمير اللي مات يصحى كمان مازال موجود ، وأنا كتبت لطمّنكم ، إنّي قدوه ووفيّه لثقتكم ومعكم عم بستنّى العدل يسود ، ومعكم عم كافح لنكون أحرار ، ورح أرجع بيروت لما بتشتقلي ، وتحميني قبل ماتظلمني … #أصاله#صولا#لبنان_حبيبي#أحرار#حريه#أنا_منكم#العدل#ضمير

Wiam Wahhab’s thoughts on what happened 

The Former Lebanese Minister of the Environment Wiam Wahhab was not pleased with the way things got handled.

Translation: “There are hundreds of Lebanese people that are imprisoned because their friends offered them hashish while Assala got released within hours and she possessed cocaine.”

On Monday, the Minister of Social Affairs Pierre Bou Assi released a video in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking which is celebrated every year on the 26th of June.
