On Tuesday evening, a video circulated showing dozens of students fighting in front of the Burj al-Barajneh mixed public school, when a driver was seen running over them.
According to the Internal Security Forces (ISF), it was found that on May 24, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. a big fight erupted in front of the school with students seen fighting with sharp objects when one of the teachers left the school and ran them over.
The female teacher then went to the Mrayjeh police station to tell what happened. She stated that, as she was leaving her workplace in her car, she was shocked by the big fight in front of her and had a nervous breakdown. She lost control, which led to running over people in front of her.
At least 4 people were taken to the hospital for treatment, 2 of whom were discharged, while the other 2 were kept for treatment and are in stable health.
The teacher is currently under investigation based on a judicial order. The reason behind the students going wild and fighting violently is still unknown.
