Former Minister Raed Khoury has stated that the initial agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is no longer acceptable. He emphasized that Lebanon needs a guardian to chart a roadmap to a solution.
Khoury criticized the shortcomings of the official Lebanese negotiator, whose aim was a quick signature with the IMF without resolving existing issues, including the problem of deposits.
He also mentioned that the state bears significant responsibility for the current financial crisis, including its failure to enact necessary laws and mismanagement of reserves.
