After being closed for over six months due to corruption investigations and a strike, the Traffic Management Authority (known as “Nefaa”) is now extending the vehicle registration department’s operational days to four days per week.
In a recent statement, the Traffic Management Authority declared the extension of working days at the primary Vehicles Registration Department center in Dekwaneh from three to four days per week.
This change will come into effect starting Monday, March 18th.
As outlined in the statement issued by the authority, services will now be provided according to the following schedule:
- Mondays are designated for processing transactions for owners of used and imported car dealerships.
- Monday, March 25th, 2024, will replace the official closing day.
- Monday, April 1st, 2024, will also replace the official closing day.
Transactions that were previously initiated and not completed will resume processing starting at noon as follows:
- Monday, March 18th: for vehicles and motorcycles with chassis numbers ending in 3/2/1/0.
- Friday, March 22nd: for vehicles and motorcycles with chassis numbers ending in 6/5/4.
- Friday, April 5th: for vehicles and motorcycles with chassis numbers ending in 9/8/7.
In other departments (Zahle, Sidon, Nabatieh, and Tripoli), work will continue as usual on the following schedule:
- Tuesdays: for vehicles/market licenses ending in 3/2/1/0.
- Wednesdays: for vehicles/market licenses ending in 6/5/4.
- Thursdays: for vehicles/market licenses ending in 9/8/7.
The Vehicles Registration Department plans to introduce new services in the coming weeks.
The extension of working days at car registration centers represents a significant step towards improving accessibility and efficiency in the registration process, ultimately benefiting citizens across the country.
