Protests will be carried out at Martyrs Square today in Downtown Beirut in honor of the Thawra‘s third anniversary.
The revolution marked the widespread uprising among Lebanese that began on October 17th, 2019.
The protest will start at 4:30 pm. It will open with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the revolution, after which the demonstration will head to the parliament on Nejmeh Square.
The 2019 revolutionary protests lasted at least a year and drew hundreds of thousands of Lebanese to the streets. There were several clashes between protesters and Lebanese security forces during the many protests.
Downtown Beirut is still marked by the revolution with graffiti, barbed wire, destruction as well as sealed buildings and areas.
