Three Lebanese men affiliated with the extremist group ISIS (Daesh) have been taken into custody by Lebanese authorities.
General Security announced the news on Thursday that it has detained the young men while conducting raids on terrorist sleeper cells in Lebanon. The men were identified as (AZ) born in 1997, (SZ) born in 1996 and (EK) born in 2000.
According to General Security, after interrogations, the three men confessed to being part of the extreme group and planning an attack on members of the security forces.
MTV News reported that the amateur terrorists had sought to go to Syria and Egypt to join the ranks of ISIS and that they conducted training with military weapons in preparation for terrorist acts.
Earlier this week, leaked reports revealed that the Lebanese airport was a target of a terrorist attack. The search for extremists in Lebanon is ongoing.
