The president of the United States of America issued that the friendship between the Lebanese and US peoples is strong, adding: “I am proud of all US efforts to stand by the Lebanese people during the unprecedented challenges they faced during the current year.”

“I look forward to more years of friendship and cooperation,” Trump went on to say.

Lebanon celebrates its Independence Day on November 22nd. However, due to the outbreak of coronavirus cases, the Lebanese presidency announced the cancellation of all kinds of celebrations.

Lebanese officials will only mark this year’s independence day by placing wreaths “in the name of the Lebanese Republic” under statues of the men who led Lebanon to its independence in 1943, according to the president’s statement.
