Lebanese descendant was just nominated by Trump for the HHS Secretary role

On Monday, the President of the United States Donald Trump appointed the Lebanese descendant Alex Azar to head the Department of Health and Human Services (HSS).

Azar’s grandfather moved to the U.S. 100 years ago. It is quite impressive for a third generation U.S. citizen to be nominated to a Cabinet post. Alex Azar was picked to fight for better healthcare and lower drug prices by enforcing the Affordable Care Act which will make healthcare more affordable. Until January 2017, Azar was the President of Lilly USA, a global pharmaceutical company based in Indianapolis.

U.S. Representative Andy Harris believes that Azar is a highly-qualified candidate for this position. In fact, Azar holds a law degree from Yale University. He worked in the law field for ten years. After being nominated for the post of General Counsel of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, he discovered that he is passioned about healthcare. He spent 15 years in this field. Azar thanks his family and his teachers for the great support they gave to him. He feels blessed for receiving a good education.
