World-Famous Turkish Chef Is Raising Funds For Beirut Blast Victims

In light of the devastation caused by the Beirut blast, celebrities around the world have been showing support to the victims by holding fundraisers and donating to Lebanese charities.

A month after the explosion, world-renowned Turkish chef Nusr-Et announced to his 30.1 million Instagram followers an initiative for Lebanon: We Are A Family.

The chef announced that only on September 5th, all revenues of the Nusr-Et Steakhouse Etiler branches around the world will be donated to fund the families in need.

All proceeds will be wired through Turk Kizilay, a Turkish NGO that is part of the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent.

Other than wiring the funds through the NGO, the chef has a “Humanitarian Relief for Beirut” section on the Turk Kizilay website where Turkish residents can donate if they’re not dining at Nusret’s outlets.

This is a personal initiative from a world celebrity and not the first from the Turkish nation for Lebanon.

Turkey has also sent loads of aids to help with Beirut Disaster Relief, including 21 National Medical Rescue personnel, 10 Disaster & Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) personnel, 2 emergency units, as well as tents, medicine, and medical equipment, among other.
