Yara Mouawad and Suzana Semaan, two students from Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU)‘s Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE), won at the Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI) event held in Chantilly, France.

The FCSI Europe, Africa, and Middle East (EAME) organized the Student Challenge of 2022 with the theme of “Together, Action, Change, and Transformation”.

Mainly focusing on sustainability, participants had the task to provide corporate consultancy to promote sustainability, green practices, and social responsibility.

After having to network with the organizers and delegates, teams were formed and given 24 hours to provide a sustainability plan for a corporation with 9,000 workers and several Food and Beverage (F&B) industries.

Each team presented their ideas to a panel of 7 judges from numerous industries, as well as to attendees of the conference.

The winners were then announced at the evening gala, where Yara and the blue team won the audience-awarded prize, and Suzana and the green team won the jury’s award.

The university expressed that Yara and Suzana’s success at this international event was essential to promote the need for more sustainable practices from the youth to help reduce the effects of climate change.
