On Wednesday, June 15th, two boys aged 16 and 17 years old, from the Al-Haj Youssef and Al-Mallah families, drowned in a water-gathering pond in Bodai, Bekaa.

The two teenagers had reportedly joined a group of friends to go swimming after taking an exam at school.

Families of the victims tried to retrieve their bodies from the pond but failed, prompting the Lebanese Army and Civil Defense to intervene.

Divers in the Commando Regiment of the Lebanese Army managed to retrieve one of the bodies while the Civil Defense retrieved the other.
