UAE Suspends Flights to Lebanon Over Coronavirus

Starting March 17th, and until further notice, the United Arab Emirates will temporarily suspend flights to and from Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Turkey.

UAE authorities stated that “the decision to suspend flights to the four countries came after the General Authority of Civil Aviation in the country evaluated the global situation, and due to the scale of the spread of the virus to most countries of the world, including Italy“.

The statement continues: “We are maintaining close coordination and cooperation with competent authorities inside and outside the country in regards to the evolving situation.”

Noting that the COVID-19 confirmed cases in UAE have reached 85 but no deaths have been reported.

UAE authorities also announced that all major tourism and cultural venues will be shut down in an attempt to control the spreading of Coronavirus.
