The United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) has confirmed that a rocket hit its main headquarters in Naqoura.
The incident occurred during a period of heightened cross-border tensions involving Hezbollah and Israel. UNIFIL is currently investigating the origin of the attack.
In an official statement, UNIFIL said, “Today witnessed an intensive exchange of fire in various areas along the Blue Line, between Lebanese territory and Israel.”
The statement further elaborated, “Shells fell on both sides of the Blue Line, and our main headquarters in Naqoura was hit by a rocket. We are working to verify the source of the attack.”
Thankfully, there were no reported casualties.
