Deputy Speaker Elias Bou Saab met with U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea and briefed her on the outcome of Baabda talks over the border demarcation file.
Bou Saab also informed Ambassador Shea of the final remarks that were presented by the Lebanese side regarding U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein’s final proposal.
For her part, the American Ambassador stressed the need to speed up the finalization of the Lebanese response, adding that her government is keen on wrapping up the file as soon as possible.
President Michel Aoun had met Ambassador Shea earlier and received from her a written message from Hochstein regarding the proposals for the southern maritime borders.
