Each year, the U.S Government’s international educational exchange program, Fulbright Program, welcomes around 800 faculty and professionals worldwide to receive Fulbright Scholar grants for advanced research and lecturing in the U.S.

Just like in previous years, Lebanese scholars are welcome to be affiliated with U.S. institutions of higher learning for up to 3 to 10 months.

The 2023-2024 Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program is scheduled to start in August or September 2023.

Scholars enrolling in the Fulbright Program will be provided with the opportunity to establish contacts in their field, develop research with U.S. scholars, as well as get the opportunity to guest-teach to enhance their professional resume.

Here are the requirements for the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program:

  • Individuals submitting for this program must hold a Lebanese Passport or a Special Travel Document for Palestinian Refugees;
  • Hold a doctoral degree in professional training and teaching;
  • Have the necessary English language proficiency;
  • Be able to submit a Medical History and Examination Report.

The scholars who want to apply for this program can do so by filling out an online application form on this link.

The U.S. Government will pay for the participants’ expenses, including roundtrip airfare, accommodation, and health insurance.

The deadline for applying is December 2, 2022, at noon (UTC). For more information, you can check the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon’s website.
