The Israeli army had plans for significant strikes in Lebanon, particularly targeting Beirut’s southern suburbs. This decision followed a meeting of Israel’s war cabinet on Sunday.
However, the United States exerted diplomatic pressure on the Israeli government, effectively preventing these military actions.
Sources from Tel Aviv disclosed that Israeli army commanders advised Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the necessity of a strong response to Hezbollah’s recent escalations according to Asharq al-Awsat newspaper.
