Lebanese Actor, writer, comedian, musician, and theater professor, George Khabbaz, received an honorary Doctorate Honoris cause from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK).
The Prestigious accolade was bestowed upon him during the university’s annual dinner with the Lebanese diaspora at the Harvard Club in NYC, symbolizing USEK’s pride in its distinguished alumnus and his significant artistic contributions.
Expressing gratitude for the honor, Khabbaz shared his emotions via social media, thanking USEK for acknowledging his artistic journey and emphasizing that the recognition extends to all individuals with similar stories.
The ceremony, organized by USEK’s Advancement Office, was graced by distinguished guests including Archbishop Gabriele Giordano Cacia, Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations in New York, Abbot Hadi Mahfouz, Superior General for the Lebanese Maronite Order, and USEK’s President Fr. Tala Hachem.
Also in attendance were members of the USEK board of trustees, the Board of Directors of the Holy Spirit University Foundation (HSUF), and prominent Lebanese expatriates supporting the educational sector in Lebanon.
George Khabbaz boasts a diverse artistic portfolio, having contributed as a writer, director, actor, producer, and composer.
His work includes 25 television series, 20 theatrical productions, and four films.
