In a joint statement, the ministries of Health and Education announced the launching of a vaccination marathon for the students and the education sector’s staff of public and private schools this coming weekend, January 8th and 9th.
The Pfizer vaccine will be also offered to all people aged 21 and older who wish to get vaccinated.
The vaccination marathon will take place from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm in mobilized clinics and vaccination centers accredited by the Health Ministry.
The Education Ministry has divided educational institutions into vaccination centers for the marathon.
This major step aims to ensure the speed of the vaccination process in order to provide a safe return to school amid concerns over the rise in COVID-19 cases.
It is worth reminding:
- The vaccine can be taken by every person residing in Lebanon.
- If you are registered on the vaccine platform, you must bring along the identification documents used in the registration process.
- If you are not registered, you must bring any identification papers (ID, passport, or any identification document).
This precautionary move came after the recent surge of Covid-19 cases in the country after the holidays and after real concerns over the low rates of vaccinated school students.
