The story goes back to Thursday, in the Sidon area, when security forces suppressed the violations of several fishermen at the sidewalks.
One of the fishermen protested in an angry expression as he carried his newborn and begged the security forces to provide him with food and medicine because he could not do so if he does not work.
The army then prevented protesters from blocking the road, adding to the fishermen’s anger.
In the circulating video, the fisherman/father is heard telling the Internal Security Forces “Take my daughter, take care of her, feed her!”
The outcry and grief of the father have been seen across Lebanon and social media users as the video circulated, with people from across the world rushing to ask for the father to help him.
Sadly, this is the new reality of many Lebanese people living below the poverty line, barely finding work to survive and feed their families.
