Protesters in Akkar set ablaze the villa of the owner of the land where the explosion took place.

The protesters also set on fire some of the trucks that were on the property.

Meanwhile, the owner’s son was detained by the Intelligence Bureau following the explosion, which caused dozens of casualties among civilians and military personnel.

There are speculations as to what caused the explosion, with some sources stating that someone used a lighter, while others say that a gun was shot towards the tanker.

So far 28 people have been confirmed dead with upwards of 70 injured.
