Middle East Airlines (MEA) is Lebanon’s national flag-carrier airline. It was founded in 1945 and began operating in 1946. It flies to 32 destinations and has codeshare agreements with 14 airlines! Step back in time with these vintage pictures of Middle East Airlines!

Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport was formerly known as Beirut International Airport. MEA’s heads office is located near the airport.

In the beginning, the airline offered flights to Syria, Cyprus, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and other destinations in the Gulf. It added new destinations to Europe, West Africa, and other cities in the Middle East in 1963.

MEA offers direct flights to countries in the Middle East, Europe, the Gulf, and Africa.

Last November, MEA has unveiled its new training center. The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest technologies and tools that offer a good training for pilots, flight attendants, and staff members.

Its headquarters will be expanded starting next year. They will include several facilities, a dormitory, a gym, and a daycare center.

MEA also unveiled its entirely renovated Cedar Lounge! It extends over an area of 3000 sq.m. and can accommodate 450 people.

MEA has two female pilots: Rola Hoteit and Erica Chbeir. The latter joined the crew this year!
