Walid Fayyad holds an undergraduate degree in electronic appliances from MIT, and a Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering also from MIT.

He also holds a degree in engineering from the French Ecole Polytechnique and a diploma in Arts and Industries from Ecole Centrale in Paris.

He held various positions in international companies and is currently the Administrative Manager in the international consultancy company Partners in Performance.

Prior to that, Walid Fayyad held the same position in Booz Allen Hamilton, which filed a lawsuit against him recently, accusing him of various infringements, including allegedly “misusing/disclosing confidential information to a competitor and misappropriating company’s funds.”

The case has been reportedly settled out of court, and he was terminated from the company.

Walid Fayyad was chosen by President Michel Aoun to serve as the Minister of Energy and Water in the newly-formed cabinet of PM Najib Mikati.
