At a time when many Lebanese people are struggling to find a consistent supply of bread, a warehouse storing huge amounts of subsidized flour was found in North Lebanon.
The Ministry of Economy and the Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced on Wednesday night that they have found a warehouse containing 27 tons of flour.
The warehouse is located in Zahriye, Tripoli, and the brother of the warehouse owner was arrested.
Many suspect this flour was intended to be sold on the black market at higher rates than the ones set by the Ministry of Economy, similar to what happened in South Lebanon a week ago.
Lebanon has been facing a bread supply problem since the start of the crisis, with frequent shortages and rising prices.
