3 Ways You Can Watch The Hezbollah Docuseries In Lebanon For Free

A new documentary, “Hezbollah, the Forbidden Investigation,” was aired on France 5 channel on Sunday night.

The 156-minute docuseries examines Hezbollah‘s history over the past 40 years and reveals its defiance of justice, funding methods and secrets. It’s based on DEA investigations and includes interviews with high-ranking Hezbollah officials, including the number 2 ranking official.

The trailer starts with the Beirut port explosion of August 4th, 2020 and features a statement from Lebanese MP Marwan Hamadeh saying “nothing happens in the Port of Beirut without the party’s knowledge.” Hezbollah continues to obstruct the Beirut port blast investigation.

Here are ways you can watch the documentary:

Discretion is advised as some viewers may find parts triggering. The docuseries contains footage of the civil war but also graphic footage of the Beirut Port explosion.

#1 On TV

You can watch the docuseries as it airs on France 5 TV channel when they run it again. So far this has been accessible across Lebanon.

#2 Stream It

You can stream it directly on France TV’s website for free by clicking here. But there are a few steps to take:

  1. You need to create an account on France TV. It’s Free.
  2. As you’re creating it, you need to put a valid French postcode; use 01000
  3. Use a VPN and switch to France then refresh.

For some reason, without a VPN, the website will tell you the video is not available in Lebanon. Still not clear why they made it inaccessible.

#3 Watch it Below

Edit: They made us remove the videos despite not making them accessible in Lebanon – counterintuitive.

The French docuseries, Hezbollah, l’enquête interdite, is in 3 parts:

Episode 1: Cassandre or the prophet of chaos

“On August 4, 2020, the city of Beirut was devastated by the explosion of hundreds of tons of ammonium nitrate, stored in the port. This carnage is causing national trauma. All eyes then turned to Hezbollah, an Islamist movement subservient to Iran, which controls a large part of Lebanon. Despite pressure from the street and the international community, the “party of God” refuses any independent investigation into the causes of the explosion.”

Episode 2: The Long Hunt

“For nearly forty years, Hezbollah has defied justice and the international community. This series tells how the Shiite Islamic group has patiently built a state within a state in Lebanon, playing with its many faces. Two years of investigation in the Middle East, the United States and Europe, dozens of hours of interviews and exclusive archives tell the forbidden story of Hezbollah.”

Episode 3: In the Name of State Reasons

“Hezbollah has patiently built a state within a state in Lebanon, playing on its many faces. Two years of the investigation tell the forbidden story of this Shia Islamic group.”
