Everyone one of you has probably driven up through a drive-thru window to ask for a selection of their favorite meals, cokes or even coffee.
Some may consider tipping the drive-thru person who quickly and efficiently delivers their order. However, many others may just forget the fact these are also considered “workers” working long hours and who deserved to be tipped as well.
Recently, a Lebanese guy called Anthony Kantara, who lives abroad, decided to take the initiative of tipping generously the drive-thru workers as part of his endeavors of “giving back” to the community. For those of you who don’t know, Anthony Kantara is none other than the founder and owner of The961.
While in Toronto, Canada, upon receiving a generous sum from one of his clients, NordVPN, he decided to give it all away –a total of $5000– in tips to drive-thru workers.
The reactions were heartwarming. Astonishment, surprise, disbelief, and happiness of the drive-thru workers met with Anthony handing them over tips in excess of $100 each.
Those drive-thru workers expressed their feelings in some phrases like “You are lying”, “Oh My God”, “That’s Crazy”, “Are you sure, sir?”, “Seriously?”, “Are you in a good mood tonight?”
Anthony’s great initiative came after he used to watch, years ago, videos of people “giving back” while he was still working for less than minimum wage in Canada. During that time in which he was building himself up, he promised himself he will one day come to do the same.
“I always said that, when I can afford it, I will do the same,” he said. “Now I had the opportunity to do this when a client of mine approached me with the money and told me I can do whatever I want. I decided to give it all away,” he continued.
NordVPN, which afforded Anthony this opportunity to fulfill his long-time self-promise, offers a pretty cool service. It allows you to safely browse the internet as well as watch things that wouldn’t be accessible in Lebanon.
Probably the coolest thing for us in Lebanon is that we can even switch to a US location on NordVPN in order to watch American Netflix. Our people in Lebanon will be maybe happier to know that it even helps us quickly browse the internet and watch videos without buffer time. Anthony has just informed our team that this endeavor is not the end of his self-promise. More was undertaken and some of the ones filmed will be released soon. So, be sure to subscribe and check out the Youtube channel not to miss any!
