Yasmina Zaytoun, Miss Lebanon 2022, recently returned to Lebanon following her remarkable achievements as Miss Asia and Oceania, and as the first runner-up at Miss World 2024.
Her homecoming was met with a warm reception from media, family, and friends.
The Lebanese government, of course, wanted to join the celebrations.
Zaytoun met with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdallah Bou Habib, alongside Minister of Tourism, Walid Nassar, and the Chairman of LBCI, Pierre El Daher.
Bou Habib took the opportunity to present Zaytoun with a special passport.
Yasmina’s outstanding representation of Lebanon abroad and historic achievement as the first beauty queen to attain such prestigious titles should be recognized. However, it has been debated whether this move should be seen as honoring her achievements or an excuse to give preferential treatment.
Noting that this special passport offers practical benefits, including enhanced ease of obtaining entry visas to most countries and streamlined procedures at Lebanese embassies worldwide.
These privileges are typically reserved for high-ranking officials such as judges, general managers, MPs, former ministers, diplomats’ families, and honorary consuls.
In addition to the special passport, Bou Habib announced that the VIP lounge at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport would be accessible to Zaytoun for all her flights.
