On Sunday, Lebanese Senior Reporter Philip Abou Zeid shared a photo and a video on Twitter showing yellow seawater on the beach in Dbayeh, which has caused alarm and concerns among the people.
In response, Lebanon’s Minister of Environment, Nasser Yassin, corresponded with the “Marine Disasters” group, the Council for Scientific Research, and Disaster Management to investigate the matter.
Abou Zeid noted that an official will also visit the mentioned beach to inspect the place.
An official in charge of the fishermen’s port in Dbayeh said that the yellowish color is the result of herbs growing at this time of year. However, research is still underway to find out more.
