The very popular Lebanese food chain Zaatar W Zeit announced that they will open their first branch in Egypt soon.
The franchise already has several branches in other Middle-Eastern countries, including the UAE, KSA, Qatar, and Kuwait, in addition to a branch in Canada.
Zaatar w Zeit is known for its essential Lebanese breakfast food like Man’oush and Knefeh. They also offer delicious sandwiches and platters with Lebanese influence in a mix of traditional and modern.
This branch is opening on November 25th at the White by Waterway in New Cairo, a commercial strip that hosts several local and international food and beverage businesses.
It will be the 2nd new location the chain opens in the Middle East this year after the new branch in Sharjah, UAE.
The franchise began in 1999 as a small diner that provided dough-based food. Now, it is one of the most successful Lebanese diners, spreading all over Lebanon and its neighbors.
Elie Ghobeira, Marketing Manager at Zaatar w Zeit, told 961 that several branches will be opened, starting with this new one in Cairo, Egypt.
Here are some exclusive photos of the new branch he shared with us:
Ghobeira explained that the menu will have a few select items catered for the Egyptian market, as well as the original menu items in other countries.
Opening that branch has the minor challenge of the tough Egyptian border control customs. However, Ghobeira shared that they are very excited to open a branch in that new big market.
Worldwide, this will be their first new branch since they launched in Vancouver in 2019, further expanding Zaatar w Zeit’s Lebanese cuisine to more parts of the world.
