Lebanese Andrée Daouk Was Awarded The French Order Of The Legion Of Honor

Jean-Christophe Deberre has awarded Ms. Andrée Daouk the Order of the Legion of Honor with the rank of Knight on behalf of the French President, Emmanuel Macron, at a ceremony held at the René Coty Hall of the French Senate.

During the ceremony, Deberre praised Andrée’s work in helping and encouraging the French educational sector in Lebanon and the Arab world and thanked her for playing a major role in supporting the “Mission Laique Française” (MLF).

Deberre, the Director-General of the MLF, also praised Andrée’s affiliation with the Daouk family and her father-in-law, Ahmed Daouk, Lebanon’s first ambassador to France.

The ceremony was attended by the Lebanese Ambassador to France, Rami Adwan; the Founder of the Beiteddine Art Festival, Nora Jumblatt; and French officials in charge of the education sector.
