On Monday morning, a fire erupted in Roumieh forest, in Metn, with smoke seen covering the sky of the area.
Caretaker Minister of Environment, Nasser Yassine, revealed in a series of tweets that he has been following up on the extinguishment operation with the Minister of Defense, Maurice Selim, and the Director-General of Civil Defence, Raymond Khattar.
He also mentioned that some volunteers were already heading towards the forest and thanked the Lebanese Army for helping extinguish the fire by sending helicopters.
