The delegation of the Lebanese U17 football team has left Lebanon for the Omani capital, Muscat, to compete in Group C of the 2023 AFC U17 Asian Cup qualifiers.
The 2023 AFC U17 Asian Cup qualifiers kick off on Saturday, October 1, until Sunday, October 9.
The U17 delegation includes 23 players, namely Jad Jawhar, Hassan Haidar, Christian Awkar, Salim Mousallem, Roudy Al-Hajj, Issa Shaito, Karim Shahin, Rawad Mchantaf, Omar Khalil, Ali Al Shoufi, Mohamed Ali Atris, Dani Zahreddine, Georgio Al Shaer, and Chafik Yammine.
As well as Freddy Stephan, Yahya Hamdan, Abdallah Al Dawak, Abbas Hadraj, Samir Kassas, Badreddine Al-Kawam, Hussein Sablini, Georgio Al Shammas, and Mohamed Yassine
The participating teams are divided into 10 groups, where 43 national teams aspire to get 16 seats in the finals.
The draw for the tournament resulted in Lebanon landing in Group C, which includes 3 teams that have already won the championship title, namely Oman, Iraq, Qatar, and Bahrain.
The group matches will be held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex Stadium in Muscat, where the 1st round opens with Qatar facing Iraq, and on the same day, the Lebanese National Team will face the Bahraini team.
In the 2nd round, Lebanon will meet Oman on Monday, October 3, Iraq on Wednesday, October 5, and will conclude its qualifying participation with Qatar on Sunday, October 9.
The first-placed team in each group qualifies for the finals, along with the top 6 teams that finish 2nd in the 10 groups.
