A 40-year-old woman (N.C.) was shot to death by gunmen at the southern entrance of Baalbek city, the National News Agency reported on Tuesday.
Gunmen reportedly intercepted N.C. in her white four-wheel drive car and shot her after robbing her of her cell phone and a sum of money, but she soon died.
Immediately, authorities initiated investigations to uncover the crime’s circumstances.
Crimes are alarmingly increasing in Lebanon. Two teenagers were kidnapped for ransom in Baalbek last month while on their way back from school and the Lebanese army is still searching for them and the perpetrators.
Just last week, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in his home in Sidon, Southern Lebanon. The investigation is still ongoing.
