Marjayoun, the “meadow of springs”, is located 860 meters above sea level. It is located on a hill facing Mount Hermon and the plains of Galilee and the Golan Heights.
It offers splendid sceneries of fertile lands and mood-lifting nature, notably the mountains of Hermon and the Litani River, which makes it a great place for hiking and outdoor activities.
It is also home to architectural Lebanese heritage with stone-wall, red brick-roof houses.
Marjayoun is also home to religious sites denoting historical co-existence, including the Greek Orthodox Bishopric dating back to 1902, the Mar Boutros cathedral, the Abu Bakr El-Seddik mosque, and the Prophet Ezekiel mausoleum.
The village is also rich in culture, especially on the day of Mar Elias, which is celebrated each year.
