Israeli soldiers crossed into Lebanese territory and laid metal wires around the technical fence, the National News Agency (NNA) reported on Tuesday.
The soldiers crossed the technical fence in the southern area of Khallet Al-Mahafer, Adaisseh, accompanied by 2 Merkava tanks, a bulldozer, and a minesweeper.
They conducted a stationing and surveying operation in the area before laying metal wires around the fence.
On the Lebanese side, UNIFIL forces monitored the Israeli activity while the Lebanese Army remained on high alert, according to the NNA.
The Israeli operation came hours after the Lebanese Army opened fire at an Israeli drone that had entered the Lebanese airspace in southern Lebanon on Monday.
In the wake of the increasing Israeli violations, President Michel Aoun requested on Tuesday that Najat Rushdie, United Nations Deputy Special Coordinator for Lebanon and Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs, mentions the violations in the report that Lebanon has filed to the U.N. regarding the recent oil spill.
Notably, last week, the Israeli military raised a banner containing a warning statement near the southern Lebanese village of Mays El-Jabal.
