The Lebanese Army Command issued a statement on Saturday, June 2nd, stating that one of its soldiers was stabbed in Tripoli, North Lebanon.
In its statement, the Lebanese Army revealed that a man wielding a knife and a suitcase with the initials (N.M.) approached an army post in the Rifa area. It added that while a soldier was trying to stop him, the man stabbed him several times in multiple places across his body.
While this was happening, another soldier shot and killed the man. After that, the wounded soldier was transferred to a hospital where he received treatment and is currently in stable condition.
An explosives expert examined the suitcase and an investigation was started under the supervision of the specialized judiciary.
