As the holiday season continues, Alice in Wonderland-The Circus Musical opened earlier on Friday, December 27th at the Theater of Casino Du Liban. Combining theatrical art, live vocals, modern ballet, remarkable sceneries, enchanting music, and thrilling production, it is a dazzling show the Lebanese audience is about to enjoy.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is an 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. It tells the story of a young girl named Alice falling through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures.
The narrative plays with logic, giving the story lasting popularity with adults as well as with children. It is considered to be one of the best examples of the literary nonsense genre and one of the best-known and most popular works of English-language fiction.
Its narrative course, structure, characters, and imagery have been enormously influential in both popular culture and literature, especially in the fantasy genre.
The work has never been out of print, and it has been translated into at least 97 languages. Its ongoing legacy encompasses many adaptations for stage, screen, radio, art, theme parks, board games, and even video games.
The casino was first opened in 1959. It closed in 1989 and reopened in 1996 after a fifty million dollar reconstruction and refurbishment project. It now has around four hundred slot machines and sixty gaming tables. That’s in addition to a showroom, a night club, e theater, a banquet facility, and five restaurants.
