With Lebanon’s dire socio-economic status, many people are reportedly entering deep states of depression, especially the youth who are finding themselves lost and unable to have prospects.
To aid them, the National Mental Health Programme (NMHP) Lebanon released a new awareness campaign, urging young men and women to “unmute” and talk about their problems to help their mental health.
The Unmute awareness campaign highlights the importance of talking. “Our mental health, like our physical health, needs attention, especially in the difficult social and economic conditions in which we are cut off,” stated NMHP Lebanon on Twitter.
“Let us always express what is in our heart, even if it was difficult for us because, in time, we will discover how we will make things easier for ourselves,” they added.
Just last month, Embrace issued tips to promote better and healthier self-talk for people in order to promote a more positive mindset for those at risk of depression and other mental problems.
As studies show, positive self–talk can promote more optimistic thinking, which helps in managing stress levels.
